MAK wins renovation awards
Each year, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry Greater Sacramento Chapter presents the Entrepreneur of the Year (CoTY) award honoring “our outstanding members with the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year award.”
NARI is a trade association of high quality, licensed and approved home improvement professionals who work together to advance the industry and provide expert home improvement services to homeowners across the country. These awards are “judged by a diverse and impartial national panel, the CotY winners demonstrate exceptional results in renovation projects.”
MAK Design + Build Inc. of Davis, submitted three recent projects for review and won all three categories and received the “Judges Choice” award for the best overall project of 2020-2021 in the greater Sacramento area. The project that received the Judges Choice Award was “Residential Baths Over $ 100,000”; a transformation of a narrow, landlocked master bathroom in Davis. The design and execution of the MAK team resulted in bright, layered lighting achieved through skylights, carefully installed lighting design, and selected materials to refract light through the spacious new room. A mid-century modern Davis Streng Home kitchen remodeled by MAK won the “Kitchen Under $ 150,000” award and their full contemporary exterior remodel of a 1940s ranch house in Sacramento won the “Exterior” award. residential over $ 200,000 ”.
In MAK’s 18 years of existence, the company has won over 30 association’s Entrepreneur of the Year awards, and this is the third time that a MAK project has been recognized as the choice of judges.
Accepting the Judges Choice award, Design Director Anthony Anderson said, “This award is the culmination of a good customer, a good sales process, a good design team and a awesome performance by the guys in the field. ” He went on to describe the project and the process that culminated in the winning ‘after’ photos: “These projects are truly the result of a dedicated team effort. We work with great people and our goal is always to make great projects that our clients love. In this project, it was a broken space that we fixed and made beautiful. Our client is happy. We are happy. Thank you!”
Each of MAK’s winning projects will now enter the NARI Southwest Regional Competition for their category. The Southwestern Regional Contest includes all submissions from California, Hawaii, and Utah. If one of the projects wins the regional competition, they will represent the West Coast in the national competition.
Owner Ken Kirsch and design director Anthony Anderson are both UC Davis graduates. Kirsch is co-owner of the business with his wife, Ellen Moriarty. Their daughter, Vivi, works with them as a project coordinator.
