John M. Lademann, 88 – RiverheadLOCAL
John M. Lademann from Cutchogue died on October 31, 2021 at his home. He was 88 years old.
He was born on August 19, 1933 in Mineola to Edward A. Lademann Sr. and Mildred Mau. He graduated from Southold High School in 1952.
He worked as an electrician and became a master electrician for 16 years. He worked in the Suffolk County Electrical Consumer Division for 23 years and then retired. He was a member of the Cutchogue Fire Department for 62 years and a former Chief and Commissioner. He was also a member and past president of the North Fork Volunteer Fireman’s Association, a member of the Southold Town Fire Chiefs Council and a member for over 50 years of the Suffolk County Electrical Contractor Association, of which he was the past president and member of the Board of Directors. His hobbies included boating, fishing, and Little League baseball training.
He was predeceased by his siblings. Gloria, Edward Jr. and Dorothy, his wife Joan and son Michael. He is survived by his children, John (Kathy), Patricia Mudd (Stephen), William (Denise) and Thomas (Sherri), his stepdaughter Maureen, his grandchildren Erin, Nicole Helf (John), Stephen Mudd ( Jen), Brienne Stein (Dan), Brendan, Jason (Shawn), Casey Morrison (Sam), Haley, Jeffrey, Ryan and Tyler (Kyleen) and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, November 5 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 6 at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Sacré-Cœur cemetery in Cutchogue.
