Investments in a company based in Santiago de Cuba to boost exports

An analysis of results and prospects of foreign trade, foreign investment and international cooperation by the local government revealed that the company exported eight of the 10 new export items identified in 2021.

Besides marketing these products in Italy, the company also exported 260 containers of charcoal, worth more than $1.4 million.

In addition, the other two products introduced into foreign trade were the eight-year-old Santiago de Cuba rum, through the Ron Santiago SA joint venture, and the Paticruzado rum, through the export company Caribex.

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the non-agricultural cooperative Marco and the construction company Welch, Morris and Associates, of Trinidad and Tobago, to export construction services.

Laboratorios Farmaceuticos Oriente, a subsidiary of BIOCUBAFARMA, also has export potential and will develop the production of natural medicines, whose effectiveness and popular acceptance have been proven.

Ten companies benefit from foreign investment in Santiago de Cuba in the areas of foreign capital, joint ventures, production contracts and hotel management, including an industrial processing plant of protein crops for animal feed.
