Government encourages construction industry: PM Imran
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Friday that the government is providing subsidies and pushing the construction industry to help low-income people have their own homes.
He was speaking at a ceremony during his visit to the Farash Town Apartments project of the Naya Pakistan Housing Authority in Islamabad.
The prime minister said thirty-five billion rupees had been allocated for subsidies for building houses by low-income people.
He said the government will provide a grant of three hundred thousand rupees on each house for the first hundred thousand units.
The Prime Minister said that while 100,000 apartments are under construction, the process will now move forward rapidly as the structure of the system is finalized.
He said the construction industry has been given incentives in different ways, including tax breaks. He said One Window Operation was also launched to facilitate the construction industry.
Regarding Farash Town Apartments, Prime Minister Imran said that out of a total of 4,400 apartments, 2,000 each have been allocated to low-income and middle-income people and four hundred apartments will be provided to slum dwellers.
