Canfield Trades Expo to showcase jobs to students and adults
CANFIELD – The annual Mahoning Valley Skilled Trades Show will return to the Canfield Fairgrounds.
The event will run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and will be open to the general public.
A collaboration of trade groups and educational service centers, the event is an opportunity for students and adults to explore trades through interactive exhibits representing more than a dozen in-demand trades.
Those attending the free event can learn about trades such as Boilermakers, Masons, Carpenters, Electricians, Elevator Builders, Insulators, Ironworkers, Laborers, Operating Engineers, Painters, Plaster / Cement Masons, Plumbers and pipe fitters, roofers and waterproofers, sheet metal workers and teammates.
More than 4,500 students in grades 7 to 12 are expected to attend the event during daytime school-only hours in their districts in Mahoning, Columbiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Portage and Trumbull counties.
The event is made possible through the sponsorship of the Eastern Ohio Education Service Center, Columbiana County Education Service Center, Builders Association, NECA IBEW Electricians, T. Bruce Construction Company Campbell, Western Reserve Building Trades, Lencyk Masonry, Sodexo | Roth, Power Tool & Supply Co, Sunbelt Rentals, Connell Incorporated, Ohio Laborers Apprenticeship, and Trumbull County Educational Service Center.
